Mitchell

On June 4th, the day after these pictures were taken, I discovered that Mitchell had finally cut his first tooth. I haven't managed to get any pictures of said tooth, so just thought I'd post some of Mitchell's cute ones.

A Couple of Rejects

The first picture isn't that bad except that half of us are looking the wrong way. The second picture is a much more accurate depiction of our family right now.

Family Pictures 6-3-07

I told the boys that one thing I wanted for my birthday was a new family picture. I had a heck of a time finding outfits for everyone that looked good together, and I finally resorted to having the boys wear the polos from Marenda's wedding 4 years ago. Sheridan didn't care for it because he had to wear a too-small shirt. Marenda took the pictures of us in my parent's back yard before our birthday dinner. I think the third one is the one we'll blow up, but I thought the other three turned out pretty well, too.

Happy Birthday to ME! 6-3-07

My boys (with some great help from my parents) took very good care of me this year. I went clothes shopping on Saturday (alone, so I could actually try things on), then enjoyed a LONG after-church nap before opening my presents on Sunday. Then we went to my parents house for a great birthday dinner, and cherry chocolate birthday cake. For those who've lost track, I'm now 34 years old.

Mitchell in May (7 Months Old)

This first picture captures Mitchell's excited face. Coupled with outstretched arms and kicking legs, it almost always gets him picked up. The last picture shows my short-lived attempt to get some portraits of Mitchell. He was NOT a fan of the grass. I think I'll try again with his pictures, but we may just end up at Target.

Mitchell at 7 months old, is a fabulous sitter, isn't interested in crawling (ie he hates to be on his tummy), and wants to "walk" (us holding his fingers) as often as possible. He's finally got the hang of baby food, but still isn't wild about it. His hair gets crazier every day, he's started vocalizing specific sounds a lot more, he's very ticklish, and laughs at his brothers all time, but his favorite person is me, and his favorite "comfort object" is not his pacifier or a blanket--it's my hair (and he's making me really consider cutting it all off).

Sheridan's Pictures

Sheridan didn't have much patience for the picture-taking thing, so I got the fewest of him. Luckily, I think I've got something to work with. His biggest challenge was that his allergies were giving him trouble (see #2). I like the first one best, except for the glare on his glasses. . .

Marcus's Maybe Nots

For such a cute boy, he is sure a challenge to photograph. Number 2 is what happens when you tell Marcus to smile with his teeth showing. Whoops.

Some Marcus Shots

I really love Marcus in the last picture, but I think it's a bit too out of focus to blow up.

Caleb's Better Shots

I'd be happy to take opinions/votes on which one is the best. I'd like to get one I can blow up into an 8x10 for the wall.

Well, Maybe not. . . (5-27-07)

On Sunday, I tried to get some pictures of the boys. Here are some of Caleb that WON'T end up on a wall, but made me laugh, and demonstrate the challenge I was presented with to try and get a nice picture. (Number 3 is my favorite. In number 4 he was showing his modelling skills.)

Beauty Amidst the Wreakage (5-18-07)

The basement window project really tore up half the front yard, but I found this peony to be somewhat inspiring. It managed to bloom (and smelled heavenly) despite half the plant having been flattened by the excavator.
